The boating (canoe / kayak) section of the Ski2Sea starts in City Park (Kelowna). The course runs along the north side of the bridge and continues up along the west shoreline of Okanagan Lake.

The course is well marked with boats displaying orange or bright coloured tarps at strategic points to guide the participants along.

It is a circle (reverse) route.

In the event of extraordinary winds or weather the boating section may be cancelled. Participants will be advised the day of the event.

• Distance: approximately 8 km
• No canoes over 18' 6" in length
• No rowing shells or kayaks (except for soloists) of any kind. No Olympic flatwater canoes ( C1's, C2's)
• Single blade paddles only (except for soloists)
• No motor driven boats
• Canadian Ministry or Transport approved life jackets must be worn in the proper manner at all times
• Recreation division boats must be a maximum of 17' 6" long and weigh a minimum of 50 lbs
• Portage finish
